Help with Sending Mail with PHP Tutorial

Postby eonan » Sun Jul 09, 2006 8:58 pm

Hi everyone :D

I?m really sorry for joining your forum with a question, but I?ve been asked to do a little web site for our counselling service charity and am a little stuck!

I?ve been following the ?Sending Mail with PHP? tutorial but cannot get our contact form to work. We get the following syntax error:

Statement must appear within on/onClipEvent handler
var senderLoad:LoadVars = new LoadVars();

We?ve tried putting the tutorial code inside an onClipEvent handler, and although the syntax is accepted, we don?t seem to receive any emails.

Any help you could offer us would be greatly appreciated :)

Make sure your actionscript is on a frame and not on a movieclip itself. I usually get that error when I place actionscript accidentally on a movieclip directly.

the script belong on the timeline just like cahlan said; you get that message because you've place it on a movieclip without defining an onClipEvent handler.

although its wrong; flash is looking for
Code: Select all
onClipEvent(event) {
    var senderLoad = new LoadVars();
}
